Did You Know?

A well-made piano can be fully functional for several generations if positioned and maintained properly. Five dangers to piano longevity are moisture, extreme temperatures, moths, mice, and abusive playing. String tension (tuning) will naturally loosen over time, so periodic tuning is necessary to keep the piano at proper pitch. Most piano owners prefer annual tunings, but greater or lesser intervals is acceptable, depending on age, usage and player standards.
