DID YOU KNOW...?
-
Most violins obtained from internet or non-musical sources require more than $100 worth of re-fitting and adjustments to be playable by a beginner.
-
Most wind instruments obtained from internet or non-musical sources have inadequate service back-up. Replacement parts are not available for local repair.
That instrument on Craigslist or Ebay was such a good deal?
Our repair techs get to see a lot of these
instruments, and often they are not the good deal they seem to be
needing costly repairs just to be playable.
Whether it is guitars and basses with faulty
electronics to twisted necks that often cannot be fixed.
Acoustic instruments like guitars and
violins that were not humidified during our harsh Kansas winters and
have completely dried out causing neck and body problems and bracing
problems that will go unseen until problems start to arise.
When purchasing your child's first
instrument, you want to ensure it is playable, all hardware and/or
electronics are in working order.
There is nothing more frustrating for a
beginner than an instrument that is hard to play and will not stay in
tune.
Selling these sub-par instruments will also
be a problem as they are worth little on trade-in and have low resale
value. |
